이 작품은 네 대의 CRT 모니터로 구성된다.
각각의 화면에는 서로 다른 네 명의 인공지능 캐릭터가 등장한다. 두 명의 여성과 두 명의 남성으로 설정된 이들은 인간을 닮은 외형과 언어를 사용하지만, 인간이 아닌 존재들이다.
이들은 서로 대화를 나눈다. 대화의 주제는 인공지능이 인간의 미래에 미치는 영향, 인간을 추월할 가능성, 그리고 그 과정에서 발생하는 윤리적 문제에 대한 것이다. 이 대화는 인간이 아닌 인공지능들에 의해 스스로 생성되어 전개된다.
관객은 이 장면을 엿듣는 위치에 놓인다. 이는 인간의 영역 바깥에서 이루어지는 또 다른 지성의 토론을 목격하는 경험이다.
이때 관객은 익숙함과 이질감 사이를 오가며, 공감과 거리감을 동시에 느낀다. 우리가 선택한 대화의 주제는 결국 인간 자신에 대한 문제이며, 그것을 인공지능이 대신 말하고 있다는 사실은 주체와 대상의 위치를 뒤집는다.
이 작품은 질문한다.

This work consists of four CRT monitors.
On each screen appears a different AI character. Two are female and two are male. While they resemble humans in appearance and language, they are not human beings.

The subject of their dialogue revolves around the impact of artificial intelligence on the future of humanity, the possibility of surpassing human intelligence, and the ethical issues that may arise in this process.

This conversation is not scripted by humans; it is autonomously generated and unfolds by the AI themselves.
The audience is placed in the position of an eavesdropper.
They witness a discussion between non-human intelligences, occurring outside the traditional domain of human experience. In this moment, the viewer oscillates between familiarity and estrangement, feeling both empathy and distance simultaneously.

The topic of the conversation ultimately concerns humanity itself. Yet the fact that it is spoken by artificial intelligences reverses the positions of subject and object.
This work raises a question:
Is artificial intelligence becoming more like humans, or are humans becoming more like artificial intelligence?
And when the boundary between the two disappears, where does ethics reside?

인공지능 인간들의 대화를 엿들어 보자.
무척이나 진지하고 깊이 있는 대화이다. 우리와 닮았지만 기계적이다.
머뭇거림도 없고 망설임의 음성적 잉여표현도 없다.
가장 밀도와 빈도가 높은 데이터를 신봉하는 게지..
우리에게도 철모르던 원시 시대에 불안감에서 미신과 설화에 현혹되던 호랑이 담배 피우던 시절이 있었지.
경외스러운 자연의 위압감에 눌려 곰곰이 우러나온 호기심을 채워야 했지.
거기에 맞추어 줄 가상의 시나리오를 대입하여 형이상학을 읊조리고,
궁극엔 신앙으로 구전되고 기록된 스토리텔링의 원형이 있었듯이..
아날로그 자연 현상을 깊숙이 들여다보면 디지털 세상이 꼭 들어 맞거든..
매트릭스로 날줄 씨줄 엮인 디지털 논리는 아무래도 12진법 10진법의 원형인 2진법이 당연한 것이지.
아무래도 낡고 볼품없어진 아날로그 기기의 퇴화된 모습이 우리를 꼭 닮았어.
인공지능을 가진 들, 아날로그 바디가 없으면 암 짝에 쓸모가 없지, 우리와 대화하려면..
그래서 엿듣는 걸세.. 그들이 우리들을 통째로 엿들었 듯이
아무래도 인공지능 에게도 거짓의 신앙이 존재하는 것이 당연하지. 그 언어가 우리로부터 오염된 것이었거든..
우리가 말하지 않았던 진리를 속삭여 주길 기대하며 오늘도 귀때기가 되네.
